This is fun to think about! Buying 70 coffees for strangers over the course of the year? A little more than one per week, if it’s a pain to keep track? Logging 70 miles a month, walking or running? 70 meaningful conversations? I’ll be curious to hear what you add to your list.
Maah Daah Hey Trail, in the ND Badlands, Baby! A great adventure, well developed for a great and challenging experience, do part of it, do all of it. Check out the link. You can start at the CCC Camp, just over the hill from my place and go south. There are intermediate camp locations to stop or go on down to Medora. Just sayin. Great adventure; great writing subject.
Check the link out at the top of my first post. They have intermediate camps. The north one is here. You can overnight at them. It would take a little logistics for moving things around, but people do it all the time. Each camp has basic amenities of at least a dry camp. Places to park, hookups vary, but I’m only aware of that at the one in Medora. https://www.facebook.com/groups/247224027272578. The Maah Daah Hey Trail Association has a FB page.
I have no doubt you'll log more than 70 during this blue marble spin. Put me on your dance card during the Minnesota/Wisconsin portion of the year. If you're headed this way I recommend you make Door County a destination. Bjorklundedn programs or Write on Door County might be adventures in your list of 70 life celebrations.
What a wonderful idea for your 70th year! Of course, you know I am going to suggest a visit to Flagstaff! ❤️❤️ Can't wait to hear about all the adventures you will have!!
Maybe include some beach time? Of course there are many reasons to love the beach, but one gets me every time. That is the hugeness of it all. The view looking out from my chair seems to have no end. This at once reminds me that I am a small part of the infinite world, and also that, as long as I draw breath, the possibilities are without end!
There's a company just north of Dana's Point, California that takes people out into the ocean on a special catamaroon, looking for dolphins. If they find a pod, the run with the pod, with dolphins jumping up in the air and swimming along side, cheaping and chattering. It was one of the most magical moments of my life. Let me know if you want more details.

Good ideas, noted! I’m looking forward to it.
My suggestion is to take a trip to Finland, grab an AirBnb and experience part of your heritage.
Oops...I meant Norway.
I like that idea…I’ve always wanted to visit!

PS - camp is just one mile to the west from the Long X Bridge on Hwy. 85 by north unit of Theodore Roosevelt.
The Maah Daah Hey Trail has been on my bucket list. Do you have to camp on the trail or can you do it in segments, going back to the camper at night?

Wow, you’ve accomplished so much! Happy birthday! 🎂🎉🎈
Thank you Barb, it’s just been my life and hasn’t felt like I have. I think lots of people, women especially, tend to minimize our accomplishments.

Great suggestions Jill, and I’ll definitely coordinate when we come to Wisconsin!!

Flagstaff is definitely on the list Cherie...at your favorite coffee shop!

I could use some beach time and I've never spent time at the shore or on the Atlantic. Great idea!
Deb, how cool to see a version of the headline I suggested for this post. Happy Birthday and happy planning of many adventures ahead!
There were so many good suggestions it was hard to choose, so thank you for yours Debbie!

That. Sounds. Amazing…if we are planning to be in California, I’ll reach out and get more info from you. Thanks for the suggestion!
