A wonderful testimony to your fallen sister and your Spirit guide, not only for running but for a life of service to others. We honor all today who have given their all, and there is no wonder we call it the ultimate and supreme sacrifice. Greater love has no one than this, that a person lay down a life for their friends. We love you, Deb and Megan, and all the other Debs and Megans out there trying to make the world a safer, healthier, more peaceful place. Hats off and hearts on to you, Deb, and thank you for your service are more than words that fall off the lips as lightly as air. Thank you with deep human gratitude for who you are and what you do. And P.S. Happy another Birthday!
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt story, Deb. When I ran the Marine Corp Marathon in 1984 (as a civilian), there were about 11,000 runners who started as I recall. I was happy just being in the 8300 or so that finished - and I still remember the bridge.
You’re welcome Mark. Isn’t it a wonderful marathon! Oh how I worried about making that bridge, especially since I had issues that last month of training. I’m not sure how many finished in 2015, but I was mighty glad to see a finish line.
I’m not crying, you’re crying. Thanks for this beautiful remembrance. Happy Birthday in a few days.
You’re welcome Mary. Thank you for stopping by and the birthday greetings.
haha, Mary, me too.

There was so much moral support along the way from strangers - wonderful indeed. Especially when the finish line was behind you.
A tribute so fitting for today. And I love that your birthday celebration coincided with Memorial Day as a kid. Beautifully written.
Thank you Jill.
Love this, Deb. ❤️
Thank you Karie.
