What a beautiful story, Deb! I'm a sucker for anything that has to do with older people. When I saw her in the coffin, I laughed out loud as Six Feet Under is one of my all time favorite series. Have you seen it? Speaking of getting older, the final episode is something I will never forget. Thank you so much for creating this piece and sharing! And tell Lois hello for me!

Thanks Mary! I had never watched Six Feet Under, so we binged the whole series earlier this year. I loved it...especially the last episode where they tie all the loose ends up and tell us what happens to the characters.

When I saw the album Lois had put together with the story of her being an extra, I couldn't believe the synchronicity of having just watched the series and her being an extra.

You're welcome, and I'm hoping to interview and share lots of other people's stories.

Spunky character! And a great t-shirt she wears: SO adorable.

That's what she was wearing when I visited her to get her blessing on what I'd written...and it was perfect!

Thank you for sharing this, Deb. How inspiring. I love love love this. I used to interview retirees and write profiles, like oral histories, for the School of Public Health Center on Aging at the U of MN. This is wonderful!

Isn’t it?!? Lots of people think their lives are boring because it’s what they know. But to those who have not had unique experiences, it’s fascinating.

My 102-year-old grandma thinks her life is mundane. But that's hardly true. They just need people to trigger those memories. That's what a nosey grandson (or neighbor) is for.
