Their cry is so eerie. I saw thousands once in Nebraska when I was doing a residency at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, teaching in a class, doing a talk, etc.
The birds are back! The migration is ON. I love waking up shortly before the sun rises to their screams. Best natural alarm clock in the universe. What a great piece! Here in Wisconsin, I'm in crane country.
This is so interesting Deb. My mom is a faithful watcher of the crane camera. She sends me pics and videos that she has taken with her phone of the cranes on her ipad. It's nice to have the rest of the story!

Aren’t they wonderful, and I love hearing them bugling overhead.
I'm in southeastern Wisc. and agree.
Thanks for doing all the legwork and sharing what you've learned and were blessed to see.
You're welcome Mark, and it's always fun for me to revisit the places I've been. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Maybe we’ll turn you into a crane watcher too <grin>
